Top Sire/Dam Awards


Twice a year at the June & October championship Shows the Collie Club awards trophies to the
 Top Sire and Top Dam Rough & Smooth.

Below are the details about these awards.
Some of the trophies list below are due to finish, offers to donate would be most welcome.

JUNE SHOW

 

 

The Silk Touch Shield - Top Sire (Rough)

This shield will be presented annually for a period of ten (10) years. It is to be presented to the Dog, Rough who has sired the most winning progeny at this show.
(*amended 2003") extended for a further 10 years.

The owner of the winning dog does not have to be a member of the Collie Club of NSW but the Shield is not to leave the State of NSW. The Top Sire will be determined by the following points system.

1st in class - 3 points, 2nd in class - 2 points, 3rd in class - 1 point.

The Cathkin Plaque - Top Producing Dam* (Rough)

Thie Cathkin Plaque will be presented annually for a period of ten (10) years. It is to be presented to the Bitch, Rough who has produced the most winning progeny at this show. (*amended 2003") extended for a further 10 years.

The owner of the winning bitch does not have to be a member of the Collie Club of NSW but the Shield is not to leave the State of NSW. The Top Producing Dam will be determined by the following points system.

1st in class - 3 points, 2nd in class - 2 points, 3rd in class - 1 point.

The Ch. Milbalind Sammy Smooth Award

This trophy is to be awarded to the Top Sire at the June Championship Show. The trophy is to run for ten (10) years to 2014, and is then to be returned to S&J Stoney.

The trophy is to be awarded to the Breeder of the most successful sire, Smooth. A small replica will be presented to the winner upon return of the plaque each June.

The Top Sire does not have to be owned by a member of the Collie Club of NSW Inc but the Plaque must not leave the State of NSW. If a tie occurs then both breeders will share the Trophy for six (6) months.

The most successful sire will be determined by the following points system.
1st in class - 3 points, 2nd in class - 2 points, 3rd in class - 1 point.

The Ch. Talcott Mega Star Award - Top Producing Dam (Smooth)

This trophy is to be awarded to the Top Dam at the June Championship Show. The trophy is to run for ten (10) years to 2014, and is then to be returned to Cathkin-Glendallo Collies.

The trophy is to be awarded to the Breeder fo the most successful Dam, Smooth. A small replica will be presented to the winner upon return of the Plaque each June.

The Top Dam does not have to be owned by a member of the Collie Club of NSW Inc but the Plaque must not leave the State of NSW. If a tie occurs then both breeders will share the trophy for six (6) months.

The most successful Dam will be determined by the following points system.
1st in class - 3 points, 2nd in class - 2 points, 3rd in class - 1 point.

OCTOBER SHOW


The Ace of Spades (Rough) This trophy has now ended.
This trophy is to be awarded to the most prolific sire (rough) and is to run for ten (10) years. It is to be awarded at the October Championship Show each year commencing with the Diamond Jubilee Championship Show 2003.

This trophy is a tribute to that great dog, sire ad ambassador to the Collie breed. A legend at Cathkin and dearly loved by all who came in contact with him. At the end of ten years the trophy is to be returned to G Jones at Cathkin Collies.

The Top Sire (Rough) will be decided in the following manner.
1st in class - 3 points, 2nd in class - 2 points, 3rd in class - 1 point.

The Ch. Cathkin Nikita Top Dam Trophy

This trophy is to be awarded to the Top Dam - October Championship Show. The trophy is to be awarded to the breeder of the most successful dam Rough or Smooth. A small replica will be presented to the winner upon return of the plaque each October. The Top Dam does not have to be owned by a member of the Collie Club of NSW. If a tie occurs then both breeders will share the trophy for six (6) months.

The most successful Dam will be determined by the following points system.
1st in class - 3 points, 2nd in class - 2 points, 3rd in class - 1 point.

Top Smooth Sire Award donated by Jedford Collies (This trophy has now ended)
The Top Smooth Sire Award is to be presented at the October Championship Show commencing in 2003 and finishing in October 2012 and returned to Jedford Collies upon its completion. It is to be awarded tot he Smooth Collie Dog whose progeny have been placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in each breed class at the October Show.

An interstate or non-member may take possession of the sash that accompanies the award.

The Top Sire (Smooth) will be decided in the following manner.
1st in class - 3 points, 2nd in class - 2 points, 3rd in class - 1 point.

Top Smooth Dam Award donated by Yedika Collies (This trophy has now ended)


The Top Smooth Dam Award is to be presented at the October Championship Show commencing in 2003 and finishing in October 2012 and returned to Yedika Collies upon its completion. It is to be awarded to the Smooth Collie Bitch whose progeny have been placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in each breed class at the October Show. An interstate or non-member may take possession of the sash that accompanies the award.

The Top Smooth Dam will be decided in the following manner.
1st in class - 3 points, 2nd in class - 2 points, 3rd in class - 1 point.
